- Import Duty is a kind of tax collected by governments on imports into a particular country. The value of goods will usually determine the amount of duty that is to be collected.
- Brokerage Fees - Sometimes as a result of the import process freight forwarders apply additional fees on import duties to cover their incurred labour.
- VAT or Goods & Services Tax A tax applied on a product (or service) at some point in the production chain. UK VAT is 20%, but rates differ all over the world.

Every country around the globe has different regulations, rules, and taxes for calculating and collecting duties on imports.
